About Sherman Nursery
Sherman Nursery Farms began in 1969 comprised by the first generation of Howard and Pam Sherman. Together they built a successful business by providing of a lawn cutting service for St. Clair county. This grew into a business that landscaped and maintained properties for utility companies, state highways, commercial, residential and government offices. Sherman Nursery Farms is a result of the landscape maintenance business. Our business became a growing nursery with beautiful trees, designing and installing landscapes visions, and adding a retail lot for our customers to come and see the trees that will be added to their landscaping.
The business took a new direction when Scott Sherman (second generation), Howard and Pam’s son, graduated from Michigan State University in 1992 with a Landscape Horticulture degree. Scott has taken the business in a new direction by developing a retail/wholesale and landscaping/design business based on the principal of providing healthy plants and good service that fits into our customer’s visions and budget.
Scott also expanded our MDOT contracting and developed contracting with cities in Southeastern Michigan to do street tree planting and landscaping cities’ property. In 2002, Howard turned over the day to day operation of the business to Scott.
Sherman Nursery Farms has been involved in a wide range of services over the years; which has given our owner and employees the opportunity to service our Blue Water area clients with experience and dedication.
The majority of our business is built on our returning customers and the generous ‘word of mouth’ that our customers have provided to their friends and family.
